Take a stroll along the scenic Bacolod City Plaza or visit the nearby Negros Museum to learn about the history and culture of the region. For the adventurous, hike up the nearby Mt. Kanlaon or explore the stunning Mambukal Mountain Resort. And of course, no visit to Bacolod is complete without trying the local delicacies such as chicken inasal and piaya. Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone here in Bacolod City.
Bacolod City Plaza Located in the heart of Bacolod City, the Bacolod City Plaza is a beautiful park where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. Take a stroll along the pathways lined with palm trees and admire the colorful flowers. There are also several statues and monuments to explore, including a statue of Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. The plaza is also home to several events throughout the year, including the MassKara Festival.
Negros Museum Learn about the history and culture of Negros Island at the Negros Museum. Located just a short drive from Lopez LuxLiving Mesavirre Bacolod, the museum features exhibits on the ancient history of Negros Island, as well as the Spanish colonial period and the sugar industry. There is also a section on the local art and culture, including traditional costumes and musical instruments.
Mt. Kanlaon For the adventurous, Mt. Kanlaon is a must-visit destination. This active volcano is the highest peak in the Visayas region and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The hike to the summit is challenging, but well worth it for the spectacular scenery.
Mambukal Mountain Resort Located just a short drive from Bacolod City, the Mambukal Mountain Resort is a popular destination for nature lovers. The resort features several hot springs and waterfalls, as well as hiking trails and camping areas. There is also a butterfly garden and a bat sanctuary to explore.
Local Delicacies. Visit to Bacolod City is not complete without trying the local delicacies. Chicken inasal is a must-try dish, featuring grilled chicken marinated in a blend of spices and served with rice and a dipping sauce. Piaya is a sweet pastry filled with muscovado sugar and is a popular snack in the region. There are also several local bakeries where you can try other sweet treats like napoleones and biscocho.
